Life Lately: Visit from the Padres

My mom and dad came to visit us for a week just before Easter.

Boy, does Miss Ellery love her grandma and grandpa.

Love it when they visit / makes my heart ache wishing we could live closer and be like this all the time.

On their first day here Clay and I snuck off to Six Flags to ride coasters while Ellery got some quality grandma and grandpa time. We rode the six biggest rides and then had to be done because our brains were feeling quite scrambled. Super fun date and we had been looking forward to it for a long time, but we think we're probably done with those types of roller coasters (or at least that many in a row) for like...ever. It takes a toll on ya!

Other than that, we mostly just chilled at home, celebrated my dad's bday, ate at yummy restaurants, went on walks and to the arboretum, did some Easter celebrations, shopping, and...that's all I can remember : )

Ellery had fun playing little games with grandpa like, "nigh nigh" as she calls it, where he pretends to sleep and she wakes him up. She had fun making messes, bringing all her clothes out of her room and putting them on grandpa and trying to put them on herself. We also played lots of "Duck Duck Goose" and "Ring Around the Roses" with the whole family. Ellery can actually say "Duck Duck Goose" but it sounds more like "Duh Duh Goo!" and I find her going around the apartment, tapping random objects and saying it. Also, when we play "Ring Around the Roses" she makes sure to include everyone in the room by reaching for their hand. And like I said, she says "nigh nigh" for "Night night."

Ellery got another haircut (thanks Mom!).

Grandma hugs.

Ellery LOVES to give hugs and gives the sweetest, most sincere ones : ) She says "hugs" like "huh" and reaches out for them. Sometimes we play a game where she does something across the room, runs over and hugs me, then runs back and does whatever she was doing, then runs back and hugs me, etc. I love it : )
