It's kind of like torture living two seconds away from the Disneyland of grocery stores. I guess you could call me a "Foodie" or a "Fat Kid" as my sister calls it (not me, but the term haha) since the only time I ever really wish we had more money is when it comes to food. But for now I'll shop at Walmart. Learning to sacrifice and save builds character, right? And the Great Value brand isn't all that bad. But one day when we do have more money I hope we live near a Central Market or HEB again.
Watch the HEB ads for sales and try couponing. If you use coupons on top of sales, you can often get name brand items for cheaper than the store brand (like Great Value). I miss HEB!
