Half a year

I cannot believe Ellery is half a year old! She's going to be one in no time. At her six month appointment the other day, the doctor told us she is healthy and perfect (we almost expected him to say she was overweight...ha. Not that we don't love her chubs!) She is 17 lbs and 26 inches long. She got a few shots and did great! She stopped crying immediately after I picked her up and began smiling (big improvement from the first time she got shots. What a brave girl!). The doctor also said that she can now eat anything on the baby food aisle. So we tried a jar of chicken/pasta/veggie mix yesterday for the first time. She struggled a little at first with the texture and definitely didn't seem to love it as much as fruit and veggies, but maybe she's just not used to it yet. The doctor said she needs to learn different textures, so we're going to try cheerios soon. We'll see how that goes. Anyway, she's not really scooting or rolling any more than before, but she is sitting up on her own now. Not quite sturdy enough that we'd leave the room while she's sitting on her own, but we don't have to keep our hands on her anymore. I think in another week she'll be a pro. She's also back to the spitting thing. She spat a lot a while ago and then stopped for a while, but she's spitting all the time now. It's pretty funny.

 Miss E in her pretty easter dress. Sadly, the Easter bunny didn't come this year. E had no idea. He'll come next year though.

Ellery LOVES to brush teeth with us. She gets so excited as soon as she hears the toothbrush turn on (the vibration is kind of loud). She always sucks on the opposite end while we brush : )
