Miss Ellery is a big ONE now! So crazy that I almost have a toddler. We had her one year doctor's appointment today. She is almost 22 lbs and almost 30 inches long! We are nearing the end of our nursing days, but not quite there yet. I gave her whole milk today for the first time and she loved it. She is so close to walking, but also not quite there yet. She takes a couple of small steps every day now, but never more than five. She does stand all by herself for long periods of time though, and walks like a champ when pushing or holding onto something. She still says "dada" and "daddy" all the time, rarely says "mama" (although she knows how), says "ya" and now says "oot" all the time, which means "out." She can even almost say "outside." She definitely knows what she's talking about too. She loves being outside. We go for long walks every day, but they aren't long enough for her! So grateful for the nice weather lately. Ellery is still doing lots of tricks (clapping, high fives, waving goodbye, etc) and she is great at mimicking us with sounds and movements. She does an impression of an elephant with the noise and the arm movement. She says "moo" and other animal noises (although they don't typically sounds just like the animal, but she knows animals make funny noises!). Her sleeping has gotten worse lately, but we've either been with family or been sick for the past couple of weeks, so I'm sure that's why. Looking forward to sleeping through the night again after we're feeling better and back into our routine! Ellery's favorite things in the world are other babies/kids, our family, being outside, crawling, and animals (particularly cats!). Overall, miss E is a delight! She has her moments (like we all do), but she is the best thing I could ask for. She is so fun and sweet. So grateful for my baby and for the opportunity to stay home with her and be with her all day every day. Love her.
