We got passes to the Fort Worth zoo this week!
It's supposed to be one of the best zoos in the country. I think the main thing is just that it's so so big! We didn't even come close to covering it all on our trip there the other day. The other good thing about it is that it's laid out well, so there is always something to see. The giraffes and lions were cooler at the Dallas zoo, but everything else that we saw was cooler at the Fort Worth zoo. The monkeys, tigers and elephants were all really good.
Left: Getting ready to go.
Right: One of the first things we saw at the zoo were the monkeys. Unfortunately, Ellery was extremely tired this day, and it showed. She was standing right next to the glass when all of the sudden, this gorilla came right up to her and looked at her. She FREAKED out (screaming and crying) and wouldn't go NEAR another animal the rest of the trip.
She was pretty expressionless the rest of the time and wanted to be carried a lot (tired girl!).
She did enjoy climbing the fences.
Two baby elephants (they had them doing tricks for us).
Pretty blue bird that Clay informed me he had one just like it growing up. I had no idea he had a bird growing up (unless I just forgot?!)! Guess you still learn things about your spouse four years later...
After the zoo we went to a breakfast restaurant. E LOVES breakfast foods. She enjoyed her pancakes.
