Houston for Spring Break

Clay had a little spring break the same week as our nephews, so we decided to drive down to Houston for a few days to play.

E was amazing on the four hour drive there and back. Happily played, looked at books, and did the ipad the whole time.

As soon as we got to Clay's parents house, Ellery bolted up the stairs. She remembered where the play room was! (oh, but just to note, when we first walked in, she ran up to Clay's mom and hugged her. She loves her grandma!).
Love the classic toys Jean has kept from when her kids were little.

Ellery playing with Barbie and Ken for the first time. She loves Barbie (we often get Barbie books at the library).
And playing on Aunt Haley's trampoline.
She LOVED the trampoline (when she was alone on it). She was intimidated with the older boys on it, but did well alone, being held, or with her younger cousin, Bryson.

View from underneath the trampoline.

Played a fun game of duck duck goose on the tramp.

 mmm strawberries. E's fave.

Clay doing jump rope with our nephew, Caleb.

Haley teaches preschool at her house. Hanging out in the preschool room ^

Riding a bike with Grandma!

Wagon ride with cousin Lili.

Everyone went camping on our last day there, so we joined for a few hours in the day, and then headed back home before night time. Ellery had no interest in the dirt or woods (unlike her cousins), but she did love seeing her cousins!

We roasted hot dogs for lunch (and a hamburger for me!).

And then marshmallows...during the day, just so we could have smores before we left : )

A little park at the campsite.

We took a walk down to a creek. We didn't plan to go swimming, but it happened, so all the kids ended up in just their underwear.

They loved playing in the water and sand/mud.

Lili is a water bug! She has no fear of water in her face (unlike Ellery). Good thing too because E was splashing away!

Reading a Barbie book on our drive home.
On our way home we stopped at the famous Buc-ees gas station. Our first time there, surprisingly. It was SO packed, and we knew why. It's the Disneyland of gas stations. We had fun running around and sampling yummy foods in their little grocery store/food joint/gift shop. Ellery loved Buc-ee.

Close up of the picture above. How cute is that?!

Hide and go seek in his shirt?! ha.
