Today went a little better (day 4).
-She woke up in the morning and instantly wanted down (she never does. She always wants me to hold her in the morning). She immediately ran to the potty, and after reading a couple of short books to her (while she sat on the potty), she went number 1! Success.
-Pee accident
-Pee accident
-Pee on potty (I just happened to have her on the potty waiting).
-Diaper after nap was full
-We went swimming and she wore a swim diaper, then she took a bath (couldn't tell, but my guess is she peed in it because she hadn't gone in a while).
-Then number 1 AND number 2 on the potty! (I already had her there waiting though).
I don't know if that's smart, or just not helpful in the learning process to have her sit and wait on the potty a lot, but it definitely creates less messes for me...and she actually likes it! In fact, she usually doesn't want to get off the potty even long after she's already done going.
My theory on potty training is you do what works for your child. If sitting and waiting works, you go with it. :) We are just starting the potty training process with Miss Penny - such a fun ride...on the potty train, that is!
